When it comes to child care, every parent wants to know their child will be safe, happy and given opportunities to learn and grow. But finding the right child care can be difficult.

There are many different types of services including long day care, preschool/kindergarten, family day care and outside school hours care services, and knowing what to look for and ask can feel like a guessing game.

Starting Blocks is a government website designed to help families make the best choice for their child and family. You can search for services in your local area and find their quality ratings. Starting Blocks is a starting point for new parents and provides trusted information all in the one place. You can learn about children’s developmental milestones, discover home activities to boost children’s learning and development and learn about different types of early childhood education and care.

We already know that the first few years of a child’s life are the most significant in terms of neurological development and educational growth and quality education and care matters.

Starting Blocks is brought to you by the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA). ACECQA is the national body overseeing the implementation of the National Quality Framework which has been developed to improve the standard of education and care in Australia.

Pop onto StartingBlocks.gov.au now, pop in your postcode and get your child care search started. Starting Blocks will also be attending the Essential Baby and Toddler Show in Sydney on 23 – 25 September at Moore Park.
