Night Owls: Free outdoor film festival at Darling Quarter
Night Owls Kids’ Film Festival – 9th to 25thJanuary 2020
Free family fun under the stars continues this January, with the return of the Darling Quarter Night Owls Kids’ Film Festival for its ninth season.
Escape to a world of imagination and delight this summer, with a dazzling program of blockbuster movies for families, short films made especially for kids, plus after-hours screenings for the adults on selected evenings.
From 9–25 January, park your blanket on the Village Green at Darling Quarter and choose from the 17 nights of entertainment – it’s all free, so you can come back as often as you like!
There are over a two dozen movies to choose from, including classics such as Over the Hedge and recent releases Aladdin (2019), Toy Story 4, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Mary Poppins Returns, A Star Is Born, Bohemian Rhapsody, Avengers: Endgame, and more.
There’s also nightly live entertainment to keep the kids engaged while the adults kick back and take in the ambiance of Sydney city at dusk, followed by a short film made for kids and – last but not least – the family-friendly feature.
Grab a bit to eat from one of the precinct’s renowned eateries, with options including sushi (Umi Sushi), steaks (Stacks Bar), Thai (Nok Nok Thai Eating House), Brazilian BBQ (Braza Churrascaria), fish and chips (Taste), pizza (Vesta) and for dessert there’s gelato (Gelatissimo) or cake and chocolate (Guylian).
Mark the dates on the calendar now, and when the long, lazy January days roll around, get your family and friends together and take a train, bus or car (there’s plenty of onsite parking at Wilson Car Park) to Darling Quarter.
