Musique with Danielle & Janique
There are many approaches used today in teaching young children music. :earning through movement is a good introduction to the basics of music before learning an instrument.Studies show learning music develops brain capacity, teamwork and co ordination. It is especially valuable for the young child whose muscular control is not ready for an instrument beat and dynamics.
9 months- 2 years old: This programme offers a wide variety of activities designed to catch and hold the child’s attention. Use of percussion instruments and rhymes.
2-4 years old: Children will learn songs and rhymes with the use of percussion instruments. Also learn about colours, numbers and instruments of the orchestra. These activities chosen are to help improve concentration, develop memory and social skills.
4-5years old: Classes are carefully structured offering a sound foundation for later instrumental learning. Notation is taught as well as musical signs. Children are then able to read music and play simple tunes on a Melodica. This class encourages children to be independent as the parent becomes an observer.
