Big Fat Smile is a not-for-profit community-owned, industry-leading provider of child education, care, recreation, cultural and inclusion services and has been so from humble beginning for almost 40 years in New South Wales and the Australian Capital Territory. As an organisation, its vision is to enrich the lives and minds of children and families in their communities.

Located at 35 Walsh Ave, Big Fat Smile’s Castle Hill Community Preschool caters for children 0-5 years Mon-Fri from 6:30am-6:30pm. With a strong focus on quality early education, the service offers tailored educational programs to help each child reach their full potential. Plus, all essentials such as all meals, nappies, wipes & sunscreen are provided and you don’t pay for public holidays!

Director Erin Fong is a passionate educator committed to life-long learning and reflective practice. She places great emphasis on the learning environment being reflective of the children’s interests in all developmental domains and factoring in the social skills, communication skills, physical abilities, and learning styles of the children who learn through them. Working in close collaboration with the organisation’s Pedagogical Thinker in Residence, Dr Michele Peden, our educational framework is then applied and tailored to each child to help develop them to their full potential.

As an organisation, we pride ourselves on our collaborative approach with our families, placing great emphasis of strong, two-way communication. Parents and carers are invited to a secure, private app, where they can keep up to date on their children’s days in the service, their learning as well as organisational updates and a quarterly newsletter for each service.

Castle Hill Community Preschool also utilise and deliver the Transition to School Program, to aid preschoolers in their final year to develop skills for school readiness.
