Santa’s Arrival at Rouse Hill Town Centre. Saturday 9 November. Parade starts at 11am.

The annual parade features Santa and Mrs. Claus and also involves local schools, entertainment and community groups – bringing the community together to welcome the festive season. This year’s spectacular parade down Main St will also feature a special Sesame Street float including Big Bird, Bert, Ernie, Elmo, Cookie Monster and Abbie to celebrate the 50-year anniversary of Sesame Street. Parade starts at 11am.

Santa’s Arrival at Castle Towers. Saturday 9 November.

Castle Towers will welcome Santa and his friends from the North Pole with a grand parade throughout the centre at 11am on Saturday, 9 November. Led by a Christmas marching band and taking place across all three levels, the cast of characters will arrive at Santa’s Throne in time for photos to start from 12pm.

Santa’s official welcome will also include roaming performances by Angel Choir Trio, Christmas soldiers and the cast of I Love Christmas. Children can enjoy a series of meet and greet opportunities that afternoon with Mrs Claus, Rudolph and the cast of 12 Days of Christmas.

North West Disability Services Art Fair and Family Fun Day. Saturday 9 November. 10am to 3pm. Aberdeen House, Rouse Hill.

Art, Christmas gifts, food, crafts, raffle and more – fun for the whole family. Start your Christmas shopping early! Choose from quality paintings and mosaics as well as small handmade gifts like pottery, jewellery, Christmas tree decorations and cards. Arts and crafts are hand made by adults attending the innovative creative arts program run by not-for-profit North West Disability Services. All sale proceeds will go towards funding the innovative creative programs at Aberdoon House.

Monster all day raffle with great prizes including games of golf, overnight accommodation near Kangeroo Valley, dining vouchers, Harvey Norman Electrical prizes plus lots more. Kids will love making their own creations by participating in art and craft sessions. Car enthusiasts will love the display of vintage cars from the Model A and T Ford Clubs NSW.

A variety of yummy street foods, pizzas, pulled pork and beef rolls or, enjoy a coffee or Devonshire tea and slices.

History buffs will enjoy viewing Aberdoon House, an intact example of an old Colonial Georgian Cottage typical of the early settlement of the Rouse Hill district .

Invitational BBQ Competition – the richest BBQ competition in Australia – is for you. The competition sees 30 of the top Australian barbecue teams along with 20 top teams from around the world grill, roast and smoke, in a bid to win a share in $50,000 in cash, prizes and trophies. Above and beyond the major BBQ contest, the event will be complemented by a State Butchery Challenge, Kid’s BBQ Contest and Steak Cooking Competition.

Galston Valley Railway Open Day. Sunday 10 November. 9.30am to 3pm.

Run by the Hornsby Model Engineers’ Co-operative, Galston Valley Railway is an amazing and unique experience, particularly if you have a train fanatic in the family! It’s a miniature railway with a main line length of about 1km running through a picturesque bush setting, with a mix of steam and diesel trains.
