Pop on down to these fresh food markets – it’s a great Saturday morning if the sun’s shining. If you haven’t been, click here for an idea of what to expect. There’s an array of locally made gourmet food and produce, including cheeses, breads, traditional pastas, fresh fruit and veg and in our opinion the best bacon and egg roll in the Hills.   • Wellbeing and Focus on Happiness Workshop – Castle Hill Community Hub, located outside Castle Towers, Saturday 13 April. Learn yoga techniques, mindfulness and relaxation to reduce stress. This free workshop is for carers and people living with disability. Cost: Free. More details here.

RIDBC Book, Toy & Music Fair 2019. Thursday 11 April, Friday 12 April, Saturday 13 April and Sunday 14 April from 8am to 3pm.

One of our favourite book fairs is on again this weekend. The RIDBC Book, Toy and Music Fair will take place from 11 April to 14 April. There will be thousands of excellent quality fiction, nonfiction, antiquarian and specialist books and collectables, children’s toys, CDs and DVDs on sale.

Whether you are an avid baker in search of some recipe books, a history enthusiast, a lover of romance novels or a fiction fanatic, be sure to save the date for one of Sydney’s best book and toy fairs.

From 2:30pm – 5:30pm, little ones can have a cuddle with some adorable baby animals at Castle Hill RSL petting farm and later in the afternoon, until evening, enjoy the acoustic sounds of our free live entertainment from 5:30pm – 8:30pm

Sunfest 2019. Saturday 13 April. 11am to 10pm.

Galston Valley Railway Open Day. Sunday 14 April. From 9.30am to 3pm.

Run by the Hornsby Model Engineers’ Co-operative, Galston Valley Railway is an amazing and unique experience, particularly if you have a train fanatic in the family! It’s a miniature railway with a main line length of about 1km running through a picturesque bush setting, with a mix of steam and diesel trains. And it’s right here in the outer Hills, although you’d never know from simply driving past! We love to visit – you can read more here. Wormticklers nursery at Swanes Dural. Sunday 14 April. 10am to 2pm.

Wormticklers nursery is taking over Swanes nursery Dural on Sunday the 14 April. Bring the kids and let them get their hands dirty in a free potting session. Each child will plant their own FREE organic salad green that they can take home and watch grow.  Come and meet the chief Wormtickler himself and get advice on organic planting, permaculture techniques + natural methods of pest control Free educational talks all day including: growing veggies for the Easter bunny and how to attract beneficial bees and butterflies into the garden. Grown ups – Learn how to to create your very own chemical free garden devoid of plastic pots and harmful sprays. Sausage sizzle with proceeds going to WIRES.

ANZAC Sunday service. Centenary of ANZAC Reserve. Sunday 14 April. 

ANZAC Sunday service will be held at Centenary of ANZAC Reserve, Wrights Road Kellyville.  The march starts at 8.50am. There will be a display of historic Military vehicles including a Centurion tank for you to view after the service.
