Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema, from Thursday 11 January to Sunday 18 February

Sydney Hills Outdoor Cinema returns to the Hills for its fourth season at Castle Hill Showground from Thursday 11 January to Sunday 18 February 2018! There’s an awesome line up of movies including new releases and old favourites, as well as family flicks everyone can enjoy! The Castle Hill Showground will be transformed into a beach style oasis complete with jugs of Pimm’s from the fully licensed bar as well as lots of other tipples to be enjoyed on the smoothfm umbrella filled chill out deck. EPICPIZZA will be on site selling pizza by the slice or the EPIC 22’ which is best shared with friends and family. The Candy Bar will serve up hot buttered popcorn and all natural Twisted Frozen Yoghurt.

Convict Footprints at The Farm, from Saturday 13 January.  

Take a trip back in time and experience the rich history of Bella Vista Farm as told by the cast from Convict Footprints. Performers will showcase the stories of the men and women who lived, worked and died at the historic homestead. Audiences are sure to be enthralled as these centuries old stories play out in front of their eyes.  Tickets on sale now. Blacktown International Sand Sculpting Exhibition, from Saturday 13 January to Sunday 28 January

The first ever Blacktown International Sand Sculpting Exhibition runs from 13 – 28 January at Blacktown Showgrounds featuring an Alice in Wonderland theme. Tickets are now on sale and you can even attend the pre-event opening from 10-12 January and see the sculptors at work. More than 250 tonnes of sand will be trucked to the Blacktown Showground site in boxes in early January and a group of 10 international and Australian artists will then start shaping this sand into large-scale, intricate sculptures. Galston Valley Railway Open Day. Sunday 14 January. 9.30am – 3pm.

Run by the Hornsby Model Engineers’ Co-operative, Galston Valley Railway is an amazing and unique experience, particularly if you have a train fanatic in the family! It’s a miniature railway with a main line length of about 1km running through a picturesque bush setting, with a mix of steam and diesel trains. And it’s right here in the outer Hills, although you’d never know from simply driving past! We love to visit – you can read more here. Cherrybrook Village School Holidays Fun, Saturday 13 January and Sunday 14 January.

These school holidays, bring the kids along to the pop-up lawn for some summer fun including giant lawn games, kids workshops, giveaways, Mike the Knight meet & greet and more at Cherrybrook Village!
