The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy

Celebrate First Nations cultures on Dharug Country at Rouse Hill Estate.

NAIDOC Week (6–13 July) is a time to celebrate First Nations cultures, history and achievements. This year’s theme, The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy, celebrates not only the achievements of the past but the bright future ahead, empowered by the strength of our young leaders, the vision of our communities, and the legacy of our ancestors.

Museums of History NSW is joining forces with Muru Mittigar Aboriginal Cultural and Education Centre to bring you a day of fun activities for the whole family to enjoy. The day will begin with a Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony followed by dance performances and workshops.

Join elders in the yarning circle and discover more than a century of knowledge, culture and strength. Listen to didgeridoo performances and storytelling or learn weaving techniques. See how traditional tools are made, and drop in to Muru Mittigar to learn how to throw a boomerang, make art, or check out Aboriginal art and artefacts while listening to some great yarns.

Light refreshments and food available. Program coming soon.

For directions to Rouse Hill Estate please view the Plan your visit page.

This is an outdoor event and will proceed in wet weather, except in extreme conditions. Please dress appropriately.
