Who are we?

Hills District Mums is in the business of building a community! We provide an online community through numerous outlets such as our Facebook group of over 16,500 women where mums can ask for advice, share recommendations and make connections with other mums in the Hills District, as well as a Facebook page of over 17,300 followers.

Our Facebook group is an active and engaged group of local mums, meaning members are participating, reading and paying attention to the posts in the group. All good news for businesses! The following statistics give you an idea of the group’s activity and cover a recent 60 day period:

  • There were 9,672 posts.
  • On the 9,672 posts, there were 130,308 comments and 177,484 reactions.
  • Of the 16,500+ members, over 15,100 engaged with the group. This is 94%, a HUGE proportion of the group and validates that it is an active, engaged audience.

However, our business is much more than the Facebook group. We also offer mums quality, relevant, up to date local information via our website www.hillsdistrictmums.com.au – whether it’s a list of after-hours chemists in the Hills, our favourite parks in the area, latest restaurants and cafes or a weekly ‘what’s on in the Hills this weekend’ article which is hugely popular. You can also follow us on Instagram, this Facebook page and via our fortnightly newsletter.

We support and work with local businesses by offering them an extremely cost effective way of reaching their target audience via advertising on our website, promotions through our social media channels and listing in our business guide. Below we outline the various options.

Advertising and promotional options immediately available:

Website advertising spaces

Leaderboard – we have a rare space available on our leaderboard – $800 per month. Discounts apply for bookings greater than 3 months. This premium space is the most prominent space on our website and appears on each page. All businesses that take out one of these advertising spaces receive at least one value-add post in our Hills District Mums Facebook Group and on our Facebook Page – the number of posts depends on your advertising space and the length of time you advertise for.  These spaces rarely become available so chat to us ASAP if you would like to secure a spot.

Medium Square – advertising appears on each page of our website. The bottom medium square is available from March 2018 – prices start from $440 per month. Discounts apply for bookings greater than 3 months. As with the leaderboard, businesses that take out one of these advertising spaces receive at least one value-add post in both our Hills District Mums Facebook Group and on our Facebook Page – the number of posts depends on your advertising space and the length of time you advertise for.

Small advertising rectangles – advertising appears on each page of our website. Prices start from $200 per month. As with the leaderboard, businesses that take out one of these advertising spaces receive at least one value-add post in both our Hills District Mums Facebook Group and on our Facebook Page – the number of posts depends on your advertising space and the length of time you advertise for.

Other advertising opportunities

Promotions – all two week promotions appear in the Don’t Miss section on the homepage of the HDM website plus are posted in the Hills District Mums Facebook group and on Facebook page and appear in the fortnightly newsletter.

Do you have a product or service you would like to offer as a competition or give away? Do you have an event you want extra exposure for? Promotions are an excellent way to access the 16,500+ mums in our Facebook group and encourage them to buy or try your product. We’ve run many successful promotions for local businesses. We have a number of promotions packages available.  Prices start from $250.

Special offers  all long term special offers appear on the dedicated permanent Special Offers page on our website plus are posted in the Hills District Mums Facebook group and on the Facebook page and appear in the fortnightly newsletter over the six month period.  Attract Hills District Mums to your business by offering them a long-term special discount or other offer (offer is for 6 months or more). Our current advertisers who have taken up this advertising option have commented that it is their “most effective advertising on the Hills District Mums website”. Prices start from $320.

Special guides – we publish a number of guides throughout the year such as a party guide, school holiday camps/care/workshops guide and classes guides for two age groups – up to 2.5 years and 2.5 years and over – each school term. These guides are published on the website and regularly promoted in our Facebook group, on our Facebook page and in our enewsletter. Listing in a guide is very reasonably priced – if you’re interested, please email us at [email protected].  The new activities and classes guides will be issued in the week of 22 January 2018 and we are currently taking on new listings for our Party Guide which will relaunch in February 2018.

Article sponsorship and content marketing – all articles are promoted in the Hills District Mums Facebook group and on the Facebook page and appear in the fortnightly newsletter.  You can sponsor specific articles on hillsdistrictmums.com.au that may have a direct link to your business, product or service – your advertisement will appear at the bottom of the piece. Alternatively, you may be an expert in your field and are looking to do content marketing. If you write the article you will receive credit as the writer, including a description of your business and who you are. Prices start from $150.

List your business in our business guide – our Hills District Mums love to buy local and receive recommendations from other mums. The Business Guide is a great way to get noticed by mums who live in the Hills District. We have over 150 businesses listed in our Business Guide. Listings are $99 for 12 months.

The Launch/HDM Review – the Launch package is specifically for launches/openings. It runs from pre- to post-opening and, timeframe permitting, includes posts on our social networks and an article/review on our website.  This would suit if you’re opening a new local café or wine bar for example and want to spread the word. Alternatively, if you are an existing business we can come to visit you and write a ‘review’. The piece is written by us in our voice and we include vibrant, high quality images in the review. Our style is not that of a food critic or expert but we know what mums like and look for, be it in a café or a play centre. These are popular pieces as we are a trusted and reliable source of information for mums. You can find examples of ‘HDM visits…’ articles on our website. And we don’t just promote these articles once, they go into a rotation of articles to give your business maximum exposure.  Prices start from $325.

enewsletter

We send a fortnightly enewsletter to over 4,000 subscribers with an average open rate of over 50% (industry average 17.5%). Banner advertising is available in each newsletter. Prices start at $80 for a small banner and $125 for a large banner.  You can also do a dedicated ‘solus’ enewsletter to our database. We charge a per subscriber rate.
