St John of God Burwood and Richmond Hospitals are divisions of St John of God Health Care, the third largest private hospital provider in Australia. We provide mental health inpatient and day programs for all general mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, psychosis and personality disorders. Traumatic stress injuries at Richmond – our closed group trauma program is nationally recognised for the treatment of adult, work-related trauma. Our inpatient program focusses on the acute phase of care to achieve symptom stabilisation. Our outpatient, day program uses both group and individual trauma-focussed therapy to promote recovery from posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). All treatment programs are evidence-based and our PTSD program is accredited with Phoenix Australia, Centre for Posttraumatic Mental Health.
A major redevelopment of St John of God Richmond Hospital has started to transform the hospital into a 21st century campus for the provision of comprehensive, accessible and life-changing mental health care.
The redevelopment will feature:
112 private ensuited rooms
accommodation pavilions that are separate from treatment spaces to support clients to heal and recover
a wellness centre containing a gym, an indoor pool and other essential facilities supporting physical and mental health
preservation of the historic Belmont House, which will become central to the new campus design.
