Inside Magnolia House
The babies and toddlers’ rooms are located within the original 1920s home, which has been superbly renovated to create a nurturing, calm and homely environment. It’s the perfect setting for young children who are starting childcare for the first time — offering comfort, familiarity and a genuine sense of belonging. The original features, including restored fireplaces and beautiful stained-glass windows, add a touch of heritage warmth that complements the centre’s modern learning facilities.

CEEC – Magnolia House offers an enriched curriculum that supports each child’s learning and development. The “Learning for Life” program combines play-based exploration with inquiry-led learning, including STEM experiences, creative arts, literacy, wellbeing and sustainability education.
The new modern preschool facilities offer progressive sustainable learning spaces, architecturally designed with natural and artistic elements, to nurture the children’s appreciation for beauty in their world. The open indoor play spaces flow out to CEEC Magnolia House’s interactive and immersive outdoor playground. The expansive outdoor space features a multi-zone tennis court, sustainable ‘Kitchen Garden’, potting shed, woodworking zone, chicken coop and climbing play area. It’s an inspiring space that really needs to be seen to be believed!

The centre proudly employs five early childhood teachers, alongside educators with unique backgrounds — including a former Karitane Mothercraft Nurse and a sports coach — bringing a wealth of experience, empathy and specialised skills to the centre.
The team’s philosophy is simple: understand the “why” behind the “what” in early education. They apply research-based practices to ensure every child feels valued, supported and ready for lifelong learning.

Healthy bodies fuel healthy minds, and CEEC – Magnolia House’s in-house chef prepares fresh, locally sourced meals every day. Children learn about food from garden to plate, developing positive habits around nutrition. Families are at the heart of the CEEC – Magnolia House community. Parents can relax in the welcoming family lounge, connect with other families and feel supported throughout their parenting journey. Breastfeeding is also welcome at CEEC Magnolia House and there is space available for this.
