Looking for a way to make your weekends count? Get your family, friends, teammates, or community group together and cook a meal for families supported by Ronald McDonald House in Westmead.
Families with sick kids face overwhelming anxiety, financial strain, and the emotional toll of having a seriously ill child. Mealtimes can be an added burden, which is why Ronald McDonald House Charities Greater Western Sydney is expanding their meal programs. The goal? One nutritious meal a day, seven days a week, for families with a child receiving treatment at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead—whether they’re staying at the House or not.
This is where you can help. Join their Weekend Cook & Care program—a heartwarming, hands-on way to give back as a group. Whether you’re a family or group of friends looking for a meaningful bonding activity, a sports club planning a team-building day, or celebrating a milestone in a memorable way, you’ll be warmly welcomed at the Westmead House.
- Groups of 5-10 people (aged 15+)
- Ronald McDonald House Westmead
- Friday evenings or weekend lunches
- $825 to cover support from the chef and food (around $82 pp for a group of 10).
Parents often say that shared meals are amongst the most meaningful parts of their stay, relieving their stress and reminding them they’re not alone. By joining Weekend Cook & Care, you’ll be providing more than just a home-cooked meal. You’re giving comfort, connection, and the precious gift of time—so families can focus on what matters most: each other. And along the way, you’ll share laughs, stories, and an unforgettable experience that will bring your own group closer together.
