***UPDATE*** – events at PHIVE including the astronaut talk are now fully booked.

Family Science Day is back! Join in at PHIVE and Parramatta Square on 19 August for an exciting and educational day of free science workshops and activities. The City of Parramatta is proud to partner with Powerhouse to bring you Family Science Day, as part of the Sydney Science Festival.

Are your kids budding scientists bursting with curiosity? Bring them to Family Science Day in Parramatta where they can experience a world of ideas through workshops, demonstrations, and hands-on activities. Kids can see the solar system through a telescope, learn how NASA’s 2011 Curiosity Mars Rover can be controlled with visual coding language and see a solar-powered car. Ever wondered how a paper rocket flies? How 3D printing works? Ask scientists their burning questions on astronomy, health and medicine, climate change, and environmental science.

Family Science Day is taking place at Parramatta Square and PHIVE on Saturday 19 August between 10am – 3pm.

You can register for the free activities in PHIVE (limited spots available) or explore the free activities in Parramatta Square (no registrations required). Get there early and allow plenty of time to avoid disappointment.
