ABOUT GLENORIE PRESCHOOL

Glenorie Preschool is a not‑for‑profit, community‑run service, nestled in the beautiful small country town of Glenorie. We’ve proudly served our local community for over 40 years, with strong ties to local families, schools, and organisations.
Located just a 10‑minute drive from Dural and 15 minutes from Castle Hill, we are easily accessible with regular public transport options. Our preschool offers a warm, inclusive, and nurturing environment where children are at the centre of everything we do.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are seeking a full‑time, ECT‑qualified Centre Director to lead our service, mentor a dedicated team, and partner closely with families and our community management committee. This is a hands‑on leadership role combining educational leadership, operational excellence, and genuine community engagement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead day‑to‑day operations: staffing, rosters, enrolments, budgets, and family engagement.
  • Provide educational leadership: embed EYLF, drive the QIP, and model reflective practice.
  • Ensure full regulatory compliance (National Law & Regulations, NQS), policies, risk and audits.
  • Partner with the committee on governance, strategy, reporting and continuous improvement.
  • Build strong relationships with local families, schools and community organisations.
  • Champion a safe, inclusive, child‑centered culture across the service.

 

ABOUT YOU (TENURED LEADERSHIP)

  • Bachelor of Early Childhood Education.
  • NESA teacher accreditation.
  • Significant leadership experience (ideally 5+ years) as Director/Assistant Director.
  • Local insight: familiar with Glenorie / The Hills district demographics and community needs; proven engagement with local families and schools.
  • Community service background: experience in a community‑run or not‑for‑profit Centre is highly regarded.
  • Strong knowledge of NQS, EYLF, National Law/Regulations and quality improvement.
  • People leadership strengths: coaching, feedback, performance, recruitment and rostering.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

MANDATORY CERTIFICATIONS

  • NSW Working With Children Check; Child Protection training.
  • HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an education and care setting (including anaphylaxis and asthma).
  • Evidence of ongoing professional learning/CPD.
  • Full working rights in Australia.

PAY & CONDITIONS
Salary: $95,000 – $115,000 inclusive of applicable allowances.
Remuneration will be aligned to the applicable modern award, including relevant director/leadership allowances.  Educational Services (Teachers) Award [MA000077] (ECT appointed as Director).
