At MoveAbout Therapy, the guiding philosophy is to ‘support the people who support the kids,’ which includes families, MoveAbout’s team and the wider community. The MoveAbout clinic space allows a holistic approach that integrates child-centred, play-based, sensory integration techniques and physical activities in sensory motor gym spaces.

To see the best outcomes and development for our children and families, MoveAbout utilises a three-pronged approach to therapy. This includes direct treatment, education and consultation. In 17 years of servicing families, MoveAbout has found an emphasis on the education and consultation with parents, carers and educators to be of utmost importance to supporting clients. The team works in collaboration with families to establish functional goals to holistically support their child in everyday life.

The experienced and supported OT team has expertise working with children who experience challenges in functional abilities and daily life including:

  • Issues related to behaviour
  • Emotional regulation
  • Sensory processing and regulation
  • Gross & fine motor difficulties
  • Attention & concentration difficulties
  • Learning disabilities & difficulties
  • Disorders of relating and communicating
  • Social skills

Treatment Frequency

At MoveAbout, three types of therapy frequency is offered:

  • Weekly – with a focus on direct treatment in conjunction with education and consultation.
  • Intensives – typically completed in the school holidays with options for individual or group sessions.
  • Monthly consultations – with a focus on education and consultation with caregivers, supported by direct treatment sessions.

Call MoveAbout today to find out more or book in! The team will also be running group and individual intensives in the January 2025 holidays.
