We love a new spot to check out, be it a cafe, bar or restaurant. A few newbies opened earlier in the year, some crackers have opened post lockdown and a couple of Hills’ favourites have had a makeover. Plus there are a few new ones on the way!

Flower Child Cafe, Castle Towers

This one only opened in November 2021 and we are yet to eat in as it is always full!!  This popular cafe has already taken the Northern Beaches by storm and their food looks yum.  We have had a few takeaway coffees and they were great.  You can find Flower Child on Level 3, opposite Portmans.

MyBella Asian, Bella Vista

Hills District Mums are raving about this one and for good reason – the food is delicious! Their chefs have worked in some of the best Asian restaurants in Sydney such as Longrain and Mr Wongs and everyone is saying their front of house staff are great too. Sounds like it’s well worth getting a babysitter for!

Bowl and Bean, Norwest

Bowl and Bean is a brand new eatery in Norwest offering the Hills District great HEALTHY options for breakfast, brunch, lunch and anything in between! Our favourite are the tartines but the salads and the açai cups are delicious too.  We checked it out last week, a couple of days after it opened. You can read more about it here.

Wild Pear, Dural

We can hear you shouting, that’s not new!  And you are correct. This cafe is one of our favourites and it’s had a gorgeous makeover during lockdown.

El’s Cafe and Bar, Winston Hills

The popular Cafe El’s in Winston Hills is currently shut and undergoing a transformation. Winston Hills is getting a BAR! Check out the artist’s impression for the new El’s Cafe and Bar. It must be opening very soon!

The Verandah Beecroft

The Beecroft Bowling Club is currently undergoing a makeover and it looks like it’s going to be fabulous.  The Norths Collective (i.e The Greens North Sydney) have taken over and the new Verandah Beecroft is due to open on 17 December 2021.

Baba Ghanouj, Castle Hill

There’s already a Baba Ghanouj in Dural and we’ve been a few times – it’s delicious! Also great with a group so you can share all the dishes. There’s now a brand new venue in Castle Hill. The space looks fab and roomy – perfect for festive catch ups! Conveniently it’s opposite the metro and there’s parking underneath the building. 5/301 Old Northern Rd Castle Hill.

Coffee Trad3rs, Rouse Hill

We visited Coffee Trad3rs in Castle Hill a couple of years back and really enjoyed their food. They opened their new cafe at 1 Capital Place, Rouse Hill just before lockdown.  Along with good food and good coffee, there is also a dedicated kids area for the kids to play with toys, build houses with lego blocks, pretend to cook on the mini kitchen and even make abstract artwork on the wall. They can even do fancy artwork on your baby chino, just ask!

Sunny Side, West Pennant Hills

Sunny Side is a new cafe located at Coonara Shops in West Pennant Hills. Owner Christine, who runs the popular The Burrow Cafe at Cherrybrook, has gone into partnership with Chef Andy Cooper (previous experience at Sixpenny and Four in Hand Paddington) to open this cafe.  It’s not open yet but they are hoping to open soon!

Sophia’s, Norwest

Sophia’s is located on level 2 of Sarino’s in Norwest. It’s a cocktail lounge and bar which is open Wednesday, Friday and Saturday evenings.  At the moment they have $1 oysters on Wednesdays with live entertainment. Once a month they also have burlesque shows. You can get tickets to the December show here.

Wonder.full Eatery, Knightsbridge Shopping Centre

This cafe opened early 2021 in Knightsbridge Shopping Centre, Castle Hill.  Whilst we haven’t yet visited they do serve Will & Co coffee and the instagram photos of their food looks great.
