The design of Sydney Metro’s new Castle Hill Station has been unveiled. The station includes a direct underground pedestrian link to Castle Towers Shopping Centre.

Castle Hill Station will be a major transport interchange when Sydney Metro Northwest opens in the first half of next year, supporting a vibrant residential, retail and entertainment precinct.

Above ground, Arthur Whitling Park will be re-instated over the top of the station and will include play areas and sculptural elements.

Station skylights will be integrated as part of the new park and will cast patterns of natural light and colour, which change with the time of day, and act as lanterns at night.

Below ground, at the station concourse level, a new underground pedestrian link will be built, connecting customers directly into Castle Towers Shopping Centre.

Steven Leigh, the managing director of QIC Global Real Estate, said the pedestrian link means that accessing the retail, entertainment and lifestyle offering at Castle Towers will be even more convenient. “The direct link from the redeveloped Castle Towers to the new station will allow effortless integration of convenient public transport with the exceptional offerings at our centre, and provide a seamless connection for the surrounding community.”
