The Sweet Delights Diner is coming to Castle Towers from Monday 15 until Sunday 28 April (excluding ANZAC Day). With no bookings required, wannabe chefs are invited to stop by on Level 2, opposite David Jones between 10am – 2pm to create a delicious sweet treat.

See a show at Riverside Theatres. There’s plenty on these school holidays at Riverside Theatre Parramatta.

Free plaster craft at Castle Mall. Children can decorate their very own plaster with their favourite colours. Monday 15 April to Friday 19 April, 10am to 2pm daily. Level 1, near Sushi Yo and Creative Nails at Castle Mall Shopping Centre. 4-16 Terminus Street, Castle Hill.

Check out Wadanggari Park in St Leonards. If you’re keen to explore, Wadanggari Park is a cool new urban play space at the base of a high rise building. It’s fun, offers unique equipment, is vibrant, green, asthetically pleasing, spacious and caters for different age groups really well!
There are also a number of casual dining options right by it including a cafe, sushi, chargrill chicken and noodle spot. So if you’re keen to jump on a train or in the car for a bit of an explore these school holidays, this is a great option. You can find out more here.

Inflatable Holiday Fun at The Centre Dural

These school holidays, your kids can get out some energy jumping on a wide range of inflatable rides at The Centre in Dural while you can sit back and enjoy the cafe. 2 hour sessions are available everyday of the school holidays (except public holidays) between the hours of 9am to 4.30pm, no booking required. The Hills Shire Council’s Youth Week

Youth Week is held state-wide in April each year with activities organised by young people, for young people from 11 to 21 April. Free films, festivals, workshops and art exhibitions are on offer to young people from The Hills Shire to enjoy in celebration of Youth Week 2024. Local events and activities include:

  • Free film, food and fun times11 – 28 April at Rouse Hill Town Centre. Council has partnered with Rouse Hill Town Centre to make 100 of their popular Entertainment Bundles FREE with vouchers for a movie at Reading Cinemas, a meal and games at Timezone.  More details here.
  • Popcorn and Pandas – Monday 15 April from 3pm – 5:30pm at Event Cinemas, Castle Towers. Grab your friends for a fun afternoon watching Kung Fu Panda 4 for FREE on the big screen with FREE popcorn and a bottle of water. More details here.
  • Art Therapy Workshop – Tuesday 16 April from 2pm – 4pm at Castle Towers Community Hub. Enjoy a relaxing art therapy workshop focusing on looking after your emotional and mental wellbeing. This event is held in partnership with Uniting.
  • Hills Community Aid Family Fun Day – Wednesday 17 April from 10am – 1pm at Balcombe Heights Estate, Turner Buildings carpark. Don’t miss these fun activities for families including information stalls, jumping castle and more. Details here.
  • Hills Youth Fall Festival – Thursday 18 April from 1pm – 5pm at Castle Hill Showground. Enjoy free local entertainment, food, outdoor gym, photobooth, stalls and more! Artworks from the Creative Arts Competition will also be on display for voting in the peer’s choice award. This event is hosted by Youth Rezolutions and raises awareness of youth homelessness. Visit your local library. There are great libraries in the Hills including Dural, Castle Hill and Vinegar Hill – a library visit makes for a cheap, quieter activity if you’re needing a bit of a lazy day.

 

Crowne Plaza Hawkesbury Valley’s Lindt High Tea. The decadence continues during the school holidays! Watch a family movie under the stars. These April school holidays, City of Parramatta is delivering five free fun-filled family events throughout the community! Bring a picnic blanket, bring your family and friends and head down to a site near you and enjoy live music, kids workshops, roving entertainment and garden games, followed by an outdoor movie screening. Visit Berry Island Reserve. About half an hour’s drive from the Hills, Berry Island Reserve is a beautiful spot to visit for a day trip or picnic. There’s lots of space, harbour views, a playground and a short bush walk. Find out more here.
