2021 Hawkesbury Show. Friday 23 April to Sunday 25 April.

The Hawkesbury Show is in its 134th year and provides all the excitement of a “big city show” while being held in the local Hawkesbury community. It is the largest Rural Show in NSW.

From stunning fireworks to exhilarating rides and a spectacular celebration of Australian cultural and rural traditions, there’s 3 days of entertainment, activities and competitions to satisfy the whole family at the 2021 Hawkesbury Show. Grand opening of Grove Square, Saturday 24 April, 10am to 2pm.

Join the celebration as Grove Square Baulkham Hills is relaunched on Saturday 24 April with a range of FREE activities for the whole family! Petting farm, gift bags, superhero visits, fairy floss, balloon twisting, local community displays, face painting, prizes, craft activities and MORE! ANZAC Day. Sunday 25 April.

Attending a dawn service is one of the most moving things you will ever do. Prior years have seen more than 25,000 attend the dawn service at Wrights Road Castle Hill but unfortunately this year the event isn’t going ahead. Due to COVID, things will be a little different in 2021 but it doesn’t mean you can’t commemorate ANZAC Day. For a list of services in the Hills, see our article here.

Just a reminder, most major shopping centres are shut until 1pm on Sunday 25 April, although many cafes are open on the day but may be trading for shorter hours.

Galston Valley Railway. Sunday 25 April. 9.30am to 3pm

Run by the Hornsby Model Engineers’ Co-operative, Galston Valley Railway is a miniature railway with a main line length of about 1km running through a picturesque bush setting, with a mix of steam and diesel trains. Great for little train fanatics. Currently, you must book in advance – visit the railway’s Facebook page for the latest information and for details on booking. Train riders must wear enclosed shoes.

Kids go free at Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park

Play mini golf at Dural Putt Putt

Get competitive on the two themed courses – Camelot and Space Trek. It’s a lovely outdoor course surrounded by gardens and you can then take a break and refuel at the small onsite cafe! Open every day during the school holidays, from 9am – 6pm.
