Holiday camps, classes & workshops. If you need a helping hand with care over the break, there are stacks of camps and classes on in and around the Hills, for all types of interests. Here’s a list. Book soon as they fill up.

Go day tripping. Enjoy a day trip to somewhere you haven’t been before. Here are some of our favourites.

 

The Hills Easter Show is on over the four days of the Easter long weekend. Expect action-packed performances, rides, food trucks, the Easter Bunny and much more. Castle Hill Showground, 12pm – 9pm each day. Find out more here.

 

Take part in Youth Week. Young people in The Hills Shire can celebrate Youth Week 2025 with a FREE movie screening, art and technology workshops – all designed to empower, engage, and showcase young people’s talents. Running from April 12–17, this year’s Youth Week theme highlights the strengths of young people aged 12 to 24, recognising their ability to lead, influence, and shape their communities. Winston Hills Mall has free Easter and school holiday activities on – including Easter craft and slime making! Find out more here.

 

Mirvac’s school holiday program. These holidays, your child can develop bush survival skills, uncover the beauty of the local Blue Gum High Forest or immerse themselves in poetry and art. Whether they’re interested in cooking with native ingredients, creating natural skincare, or learning about local wildlife, expert educators will help them reconnect with nature, stay active and have fun. Visit your local library. There are great libraries in the Hills including Dural, Castle Hill, Vinegar Hill and Pennant Hills – a library visit makes for a cheap, quieter activity if you’re needing a bit of a lazy day.

 

Explore Mystic Hollow at Castle Towers. Step into a magical fairy woodland maze and embark on an enchanting adventure! As you wander through the winding paths, you’ll search for hidden fairy doors, each holding a special surprise. Once you have found them all and completed your fairy tale quest, enjoy our illuminated tracing table covered in critters and creatures for your to decorate and take home.

Go for a bush walk in the Hills. There are some lovely kid-friendly walks right on our doorstep and Autumn is the perfect time of year. Check them out here.

Watch a movie at City of Parramatta’s Outdoor Cinema Series. Parramatta is bringing free movie nights to local parks during the April school holidays! 11 – 27 April | 4 – 9pm. Roll-out a picnic blanket and enjoy fun-filled activities with family and friends before catching your favourite Hollywood films on our pop-up cinema screen at sundown. There will be live music, kids arts and sports workshops, dog-friendly obstacle courses, jumping castles and so much more — it’s free with food options available for purchase.
