MESSY MAKERS

Join Messy Makers at Castle Hill RSL, Lynwood Country Club or Club Parramatta for a FREE hour of messy & sensory play. Sensory play is highly beneficial and allows your little one to learn while playing.There is no cost to attend this session, however you must be a Castle Hill RSL, Lynwood Country Club or Club Parramatta member (or join on the day).  Booking are essential.

  • Messy Makers at Lynwood Country Club. Every Wednesday. 11am to 12pm.
  • Messy Makers at Castle Hill RSL.  Every Thursday. From 9am.
  • Messy Makers at Club Parramatta. Every Tuesday. From 9.30am.

WEEKLY EVENTS AT PHIVE PARRAMATTA

PHIVE is Parramatta’s new community, cultural and civic hub, located in the heart of Parramatta’s CBD at 5 Parramatta Square, Parramatta.  In additional to special events, PHIVE has weekly activities programs for children under 5.

  • Messy Sensory Play for babies. Thursdays – 1pm to 1.45pm. Messy play sessions for babies aged 0 to 2 years will include a range of captivating themes from Farmyard week to Sea Creatures, Winter Wonderland, and Garden Week. Join in a fun-filled, messy play term where learning and creativity collide! Tickets are $15 per session or you can buy a term pass. Book your tickets here.
  • PHIVE Pre-school Pioneers. Fridays – 11.15am to 12pm. These weekly classes suitable for children aged 3 years to 5 years offer a unique blend of arts and crafts, cooking and sensory-based experiences, designed to foster creativity, healthy eating habits, and a love for nature; your child will embark on a fun-filled journey of discovery while bonding with you!  Tickets are $15 per session or you can buy a term pass.   • Yoga Cubs. Fridays – 1pm to 1.45pm. Join in a delightful yoga program tailored especially for pre-schoolers between 2 and 5 years. Babies from 6 months old are welcome too! Tickets are $15 per session or you can buy a term pass. Book your tickets here.

Hills Shire Council libraries

FREE storytime sessions for babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers are held by libraries in the Hills throughout the week as follows:

  • Baby Bounce – Baby Bounce is a program developed for parents and babies aged 0-24 months. It consists of 20-30mins of songs and rhymes. The sessions are interactive, fun and beneficial to both parent and child.
    • Baulkham Hills Library – Thursdays – 10.30am to 11am
    • Castle Hill Library – Mondays – 2pm to 2.30pm and Thursdays 10.30am to 11.00am
    • Dural Library – Tuesdays – 10.30am to 11.00am
    • Vinegar Hill Library (Rouse Hill) – Wednesdays and Thursdays – 10.30am to 11.00am.
  • Toddler Time – Toddler Time is an interactive 30 minute session for those tiny tots who are beyond Baby Bounce but not quite ready for storytime. It consists of short stories, songs and rhymes suitable for children aged 18 months to 3 years old.
    • Dural Library – Wednesdays – 10.30am to 11.00am
    • Vinegar Hill Library (Rouse Hill) – Mondays – 10.30am to 11.00am.
  • Move and Groove – Suitable for toddlers aged 18 months to 3 years old. An interactive, fun-filled session for you and your child including action books, songs, rhymes and musical instruments.
    • Castle Hill Library – Wednesdays – 10.30am to 11.00am
  • Preschool Storytime – Storytime is a fun and interactive 30-minute session for parents and children aged 2-5. Storytime features stories, songs, and activities. These aim to encourage literacy and a love of reading in children.
    • Baulkham Hills Library – Tuesdays and Fridays – 10.30am to 11am
    • Castle Hill Library – Tuesdays and Fridays – 10.30am to 11.00am
    • Dural Library – Mondays – 10.30am to 11.00am

Free sessions are held every week during school term, with no booking required.

  • Bubs and Books – 0 to 18 months – Introduces babies and toddlers to the world of books, songs, rhymes and fingerplays.
    • Hornsby Library – Tuesday and Thursdays – 11am
    • Pennant Hills Library – Wednesdays – 11am
  • Toddler Tales – 18 months to 3 years – Toddler Tales is a fun way to introduce your toddler to a wide range of books and songs, a great opportunity to develop language skills as well as the chance to socialise with other children.
    • Hornsby Library – Mondays – 10am
  • Storytime for Preschoolers – 3 to 5 years – Storytime is the perfect way to give your pre-schooler an introduction to a wide range of books and stories, as well as the chance to socialise with other children and an opportunity to develop motor and language skills.

    • Pennant Hills Library – Wednesdays and Fridays – 10am
