Enjoy a thoughtfully curated showcase of fine goods and crafts, produced by talented local female artisans, artists and crafters, at the Female Artisan Markets, in Parramatta North on Saturday 3 June and Saturday 17 June. A celebration of arts and culture from Western Sydney and surrounding areas, visiting the markets is also a wonderful opportunity to learn about Parramatta North’s transformation over the years and acknowledge the precincts past.

Once you’ve picked up some unique arts and crafts, there is more to explore in Parramatta North. A great option is to wrap your market experience around breakfast or lunch from Havenstone café while listening to the sweet sounds of acoustic performer Kat Luxford. There’s also plenty to keep the kids entertained with old fashioned games and facilitated craft activities. Next, explore the history in your own time with a visit to the interactive historical touchscreen exhibit in the Western Sydney Startup Hub, or take a self-guided tour of Parramatta North’s iconic heritage-listed buildings.

The Female Artisan Markets are inclusive and pet friendly. The markets will be held at 5 Fleet Street, North Parramatta from 8am to 1pm on Saturday 3 June and Saturday 17 June 2023.

Powerhouse Castle Hill presents a day of fun hands-on activities, demonstrations and talks focused on local histories. These free activities are designed to inspire people of all ages.

Hear stories from the local area and Darug Country, enjoy a picnic in the gardens, tour the stores to view highlights from the Powerhouse collection, watch Jannawi Dance Clan dance up country and help them build a miniature neighbourhood.

Free Learn to Skate Workshops. Bella Vista Pocket Park. Saturday 3 June. 9am to 1.30pm.

Kids, grab your skateboards and head to Bella Vista Pocket Park for free Totem Skate workshops every month. These fun and relaxed workshops focus on the development of motor skills and confidence building. The workshops are open to 6–12-year-olds. Helmets, skateboards, elbow and knee pads are provided, but you are welcome to bring your own equipment if you’d prefer.
