    • Keeping Safe Program – Castle Hill Community Hub, located outside Castle Towers, Thursday 11 April. Learn safe driving behaviours, make better choices on the road and gain encouragement to become a better driver. This workshop is suitable for young people learning how to drive. Cost: Free.
    • Wellbeing and Focus on Happiness Workshop – Castle Hill Community Hub, located outside Castle Towers, Saturday 13 April. Learn yoga techniques, mindfulness and relaxation to reduce stress. This free workshop is for carers and people living with disability. Cost: Free.
    • Balcombe Heights Skate Park Upgrade Unveil – Balcombe Heights Estate, Sunday 14 April. Join the Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Michelle Byrne as she officially opens Balcombe Heights Skate Park following upgrades. Cost: Free.
    • Song Writing Workshop – Castle Hill Library, Monday 15 April. Learn how to write a song from scratch with the author of Songwriter’s Book, Monica Welander. Monica will take you through the tools and the tips to create an original song. Suitable for ages 12-18 years. Cost: $15pp
    • 5 on 5  Basketball Competition – Bernie Mullane Indoor Sports Centre, Monday 15 April. Get your teams together for a fun day of social 5 v 5 basketball at Bernie Mullane Indoor Sports Centre! Cost: Free.
    • Family Fun Day – Balcombe Heights Estate, Tuesday 16 April. Enjoy a variety of activities, including painting, henna tattooing, skate competitions, an inflatable obstacle course and lots more. Cost: Free.

  • Poppy Badge Making at Stockland Baulkham Hills. Children will be able to make their own Poppy Badge to wear to commemorate the many men and women we remember on ANZAC Day.  Monday 22 April to Wednesday 24 April. 11am to 2pm.

Dr Suess Week – Your favourite Dr Suess characters are coming to visit these holidays. 23 April to 27 April from 11am.  There is also Cat in the Hat cupcake decorating.

School holidays at North Rocks Shopping Centre

  • Tim Harris Writing Workshop. Known for his highly acclaimed Exploding Endings books join author Tim Harris as he harnesses every child’s wacky sense of humour to create quirky, original stories. Suitable for kids in years 3 to 6. Wednesday 17 April. 10.30am to 11.30am. $15. Castle Hill Library.
  • School Holiday Walk – Platypus Walk. Platypus once lived in Excelsior Creek where this walk will be held. Learn why they are no longer seen in this beautiful valley. See bush tucker plants and plants used in colonial times. Suitable for children aged 8 to 13 years and their carers. Meet at the end of Excelsior Avenue, Castle Hill. Wear closed shoes and a hat. Bring water and a snack. Thursday 18 April. 9.30am to 11.30am.
  • Bush Tucker at Rouse Hill House and Farm. Search for bush tucker plants with Aboriginal guides.  Learn about traditional bush foods and make a traditional johnnycake.  Ages 5 to 12 years. Tuesday 16 April, Tuesday 23 April and Friday 26 April. 10.30am to 12pm.
