  • If you need a helping hand with care over the break, there are stacks of camps and classes on in and around the Hills, for all types of interests. Here’s a list. Book soon as they fill up.
  • New Year’s Day Garden Party at Bella Vista Hotel. 12pm to 6pm
  • Open Play Gymnastics at Sydney Hills Gymnastics Bella Vista. 10am to 11am.
  • Galston Valley Railway Open Day. Sunday 12 January. 9.30am to 3pm.
  • Kite Flying Festival. Sunday 12 January. Castle Hill Showground. 10am to 7pm.
  • Bella Fridays RNB All Decades. Bella Vista Hotel. Friday 17 January. From 8pm.
  • Dine in Movies at Riverstone Swimming Centre. Saturday 18 January. 8.15pm.
  • Australia Day – Sunday 26 January
    • Bella Vista Farm – celebrate everything that makes Australia great on Australia Day at The Hills Shire’s massive afternoon celebration at Bella Vista Farm on 26 January from 4pm – 9pm. Their’s an impressive list of Aussie acts, kids dedicated zones and Australiana-themed entertainment including The Wiggles! There’s also The Black Sorrows with Vika & Linda Bull, Simply Bushed and The Voice’s Diana Rouvas. More details here.
    • Hawkesbury City Council – Enjoy a FREE family friendly event with food, rides, activities for the kids, emergency services display, live music, roving entertainment and of course the iconic fireworks on the Hawkesbury River (to be confirmed whether fireworks are going ahead). Sunday 26 January from 5pm to 9.30pm at Governor Phillip Park Windsor.
    • Parramatta Park – Enjoy 15 hours of free non-stop entertainment from dawn until dusk at Parramatta’s massive all day Australia Day party in Parramatta Park. Featuring a hot-air balloon display, classic vehicles, kids activities, live entertainment, delicious food, amusement rides and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy!  Starts at 6am and ends at 9pm with a fireworks finale (to be confirmed).  More info here.
    • Annangrove Fair Australia Day – Sunday 26 January – 10am to 2pm. All rides for kids and adults are free (Giant slippery slide,pony rides,jumping castles,flying swing chairs, kids carousel, trackless train). Food and drinks available. The Australia Day Ceremony starts at 11:00am. More info here.
  • Lunar New Year Celebrations – Nurragingy Reserve.  Friday 31 January. 5pm to 9pm
  • Bella Fridays 90s Throwback Party. Bella Vista Hotel. Friday 31 January. From 8pm.

  • See Rouse Hill House & Farm in LEGO® Bricks. Marvel at the amazing models of the iconic farm constructed from LEGO® bricks with breathtaking architectural detail and accuracy by the Southern Hemisphere’s only LEGO®-certified professional and LEGO® Masters judge, Ryan McNaught (aka The Brickman). Then create your own LEGO farm to add to the display. Open Wednesday to Sunday until 31 December 2019, then daily from 1 to 26 January 2020.   • Check out the brand new Sydney Coliseum Theatre and see ‘The Australian Ballet Presents: Storytime Ballet’.
