Chang Lai Yuan Chinese Gardens in Nurragingy Reserve, Doonside will be adorned with colour as we prepare to ring in the Year of the Snake.
Decorated in the spirit of Lunar, the celebrations will feature a range of cultural activities and entertainment between 4pm – 9pm and conclude with a spectacular fireworks display including Chinese fire crackers.
Free kids activities include lantern making, fan painting, kite making, snake origami, red envelopes, kids rides and face painting. Find out more here.

Come and celebrate Lunar New Year at the Hills Lunar Festival!
Enjoy flavoursome food like dumplings, dragon beard candy, ramen, crispy Hong Kong bubble waffles and more!
There’s fun for all ages with calligraphy workshops, free face painting and a clay snake-making workshop. Take in stunning cultural performances and make a New Year wish – two Wishing Trees will stand among the colourful Lunar New Year decorations, offering attendees a special opportunity to write and hang their wishes for the year ahead.
The night will end with a spectacular fireworks finale at 9pm!

The 2025 Lunar New Year Festival is set to be bigger than ever, with an estimated crowd of some 10,000 people turning out for a sunshine-filled afternoon at the heart of Eastwood celebrating the Year of the Snake.
The festival features amusement rides, market stalls, food trucks, cultural performances, fireworks and an incredible lion high pole performance. Find out more here.
