Fairs and Festivals
OLA Family Fiesta. Sunday 2 August. 1pm to 6pm. Cnr Wellgate Ave and Withers Road Kellyville.
Our Lady of the Angels Family Fiesta is one of the biggest community events in the Hills District, bringing together families for an afternoon of fun, food and entertainment. Held each year at OLA Parish in North Kellyville, the fiesta features carnival rides, market stalls, delicious international food, live entertainment, a petting zoo, games and a spectacular fireworks display to finish the day. Entry is free, making it a fantastic family day out and a great way to experience the vibrant local community. Find out more here.

Belieber Bottomless Brunch. Saturday 1 August. Bella Vista Hotel. From 1pm.
Belieber Bottomless Brunch is back at Bella Vista Hotel after the first event sold out! Justin Bieber fans can sing along to all the biggest hits while enjoying a shared Italian-style brunch and two hours of bottomless cocktails and selected non-alcoholic drinks. It’s the perfect excuse to gather your friends for an afternoon of great food, music and plenty of nostalgic Bieber anthems. Find out more here.

Bella Vista Farm Open Day. Sunday 2 August. 9am to 2pm.
Bella Vista Farm Open Day is a fantastic way to experience one of the Hills District’s most treasured heritage sites. Held on the first Sunday of every month from 9am to 2pm, the free open day gives visitors the chance to tour the historic homestead, explore the heritage farm buildings, meet the resident sheep, browse the popular plant and Trash & Treasure stalls, and enjoy a Devonshire tea or picnic while listening to live music. It’s a relaxed, family-friendly morning out that’s perfect for all ages. Find out more here.

Pick your own fruit
Throwing all the kids in the car and heading off fruit picking is a great activity that the whole family can enjoy! It’s a great way to show kids where their fruit comes from while also being out in the sunshine and fresh air. We’re lucky here in the Hills to have fabulous farms right on our doorstep so the journey isn’t too far – as we all know, with young kids there’s no such thing as enjoying a long, leisurely drive!
Here are our tips for places to visit this Winter. Most places charge a price for for what you pick. Also, things change due to seasons and weather, so make sure you check the farm’s website or Facebook page for opening times before you set off. And don’t forget to take your own bags.

Lightfields at The Vineyard. Opening 1 June. From 4pm daily.
Lightfields is a walk-through lantern experience at The Vineyard, opening this winter in North-West Sydney. Wander past glowing sculptures, illuminated characters and larger-than-life installations after dark. From farmyard favourites to hidden surprises along the trail, there’s something to discover around every corner. Open nightly from 1st June. Sessions from 4pm. Entry from $5 per person. Powerhouse Castle Hill. Open every Saturday and Sunday. 10am – 4pm.
Home to hundreds of thousands of fascinating objects from the Powerhouse collection, Powerhouse Castle Hill where you can get up close to everything from vintage cars and trains to space technology, fashion and Australian history. With free weekend entry, guided tours and family-friendly activities, it’s a great place to explore, discover something new and see what’s usually hidden behind the scenes. Find out more here.
Rouse Hill Estate open to the public. Every Sunday. 10am to 4pm.
Rouse Hill Estate is one of the Hills District’s hidden gems, offering a relaxed day out where you can step back in time and explore one of Australia’s best-preserved colonial estates. Wander through the historic homestead, beautiful gardens, stables and outbuildings, and discover what life was like for the families who lived here over the past 200 years. Best of all, general entry is free. The museum is open every Sunday from 10am to 4pm, making it a great weekend activity for families, history lovers and anyone looking to explore something a little different. Find out more here.
